From cash to savings.Financial inclusion through nationalMojaloop real-time payment switches

SocialCashier's commitment to bring cash-dependent people and micro-merchants into the formal financial system, on the channel they already use: WhatsApp.
Executive summary
SocialCashier commits to bringing cash-dependent people into the formal financial system by connecting them to national Mojaloop real-time payment (RTP) switches through the channel they already use every day: WhatsApp.
Our thesis is simple. People stay in cash because digital payments are hard to reach, costly or not accepted where they shop. A national inclusive instant payment system (IIPS) built on Mojaloop solves the rails. SocialCashier solves the last mile: a conversational, biometric-secured experience that lets a person pay, get paid and save from a phone, through a licensed bank or financial institution.
This commitment sits at the center of our ESG strategy. It is our main social contribution, it reduces the environmental footprint of cash, and it is governed by the same security and compliance standards as our.

The problem: cash keeps people outside the system
About 1.3 billion adults worldwide still have no account, and half of them live in eight economies, including Mexico and Bangladesh. Yet roughly 900 million of them already own a mobile phone. The device is in their hands; the rails and the experience are missing.
Most of the world's unbanked already own a phone Mexico's gender gap in formal finance, ENIF 2024.

There is also good news: worldwide, the share of adults saving in a formal account rose from 24% in 2021 to 40% in the 2025 Findex. Where digital accounts are easy to use, people save.
Cash has real costs for the people who depend on it. It cannot be saved safely, it is exposed to theft and loss, it leaves no financial history to qualify for credit, and it keeps small merchants informal.

Why Mojaloop national RTP switches Mojaloop is open-source software that lets a central bank or national operator run an inclusive instant payment system, where anyone with a mobile phone can send and receive money in real time between banks, wallets and other providers. Interoperability by design Banks, mobile wallets and fintechs connect to one
switch, so a person's money is not trapped inside one provider.
Low cost of participation
Mojaloop carries no license fee, freeing budget for the national system itself. Lower costs let small and rural institutions join.
National sovereignty
The country owns and controls its payment infrastructure instead of depending on a foreign
vendor.
Speed to impact
Liberia deployed its Mojaloop-based IIPS in 73 business days, showing that national inclusion can move fast.
Mojaloop follows the same canonical flow SocialCashier uses internally: lookup, quote, transfer and settlement, aligned with ISO 20022. That alignment is what lets us connect people and merchants to any national Mojaloop switch quickly.
SocialCashier's role: the last mile on WhatsApp
SocialCashier turns a national switch into something a person can actually use: a WhatsApp conversation that pays, collects and saves, operated under the brand of a licensed partner.

How the layers fit together

From cash to savings: the user journey
Inclusion is only real when people keep money in the system. Our journey moves a person
from a first payment to a savings habit.

The same flow serves micro-merchants. Each digital sale reduces cash handling, shortens trips to the bank and builds the history needed for working capital.
ESG alignment
Financial inclusion is our primary social contribution, and it carries environmental and governancebenefits with it.

We treat governance as a precondition, not an add-on. People new to digital finance are the mostexposed to fraud, so security, transparency and consumer protection come first.
Impact metrics
We will measure outcomes, not just access. Each metric is reported per country and, where
data allows, by gender. Targets are set with each licensed partner at launch.

Our commitments:
01 Design for the excluded first
Every national Mojaloop deployment we support includes a WhatsApp channel for people with no prior account and for micro-merchants.
02 Keep it affordable
Price the end-user experience so that a digital payment never costs the person more than handling cash.
03 Make saving the default next step
Build savings features into every consumer journey with our licensed partners.
04 Protect first-time users
Maintain PCI DSS compliance, biometric authentication and clear complaint channels in every market.
05 Respect national sovereignty
Support open-source, country-owned switches and transfer knowledge to local teams.
06 Report transparently
Publish the impact metrics above annually, by country and by gender.
